Faculty Leadership Team Responsibilities
Executive Dean
As the principal officer, the Executive Dean is responsible for:
- managing the Faculty, including its planning, finances, human resources, teaching and learning, research, service and physical facilities
- building strategic partnerships with the profession
- connecting the Faculty with policy and regulatory agencies
- representing the Faculty at the University level
- participating in the development of University policy
- chairing the Faculty Academic Board.
Assistant Dean (Research)
The Assistant Dean (Research) is responsible to the Executive Dean for:
- leading the Faculty's research efforts and research training activities
- promoting a research culture relevant to the University's and Faculty's mission and goals
- developing and overseeing the Faculty research budget
- Directing the Centre for Learning Innovation.
Assistant Dean (Teaching and Learning)
The Assistant Dean (Teaching and Learning) is responsible to the Executive Dean for:
- strategic leadership in the Faculty's teaching and learning activities
- leading the Faculty's curricular and pedagogical transformation
- supporting the integration of research, learning and professional practice
- fostering innovation across the Faculty.
Heads of School
Each Head of School is responsible to the Executive Dean for:
- managing her/his academic unit
- allocating staff resources to ensure an equitable mix of teaching, research, administration and community service conducive to the efficient operation of the school
- distributing and managing the school budget
- encouraging the professional and general development of School staff.
Faculty Administration Manager
The Faculty Administration Manager is responsible to the Executive Dean for:
- ensuring the efficient operation of the Faculty in terms of its strategic planning, resource management, standing committees, and administrative support for its teaching and learning, research and community service activities.
