JULIE GRANTHAM
Julie Grantham has served with distinction in the Queensland Public Service, and is currently Director General of the Department of Education and Training. Julie taught for fourteen years at schools in Brisbane South and Gold Coast and was Foundation Principal at both Robina State High School and Varsity College.
In 2002, Julie was appointed Education Queensland's Executive Director of Schools (Gold Coast South) and two years later, Assistant Director-General (School Resourcing and Administration). In 2007, Julie left the education sector to accept the position of Deputy Director-General (Justice Administration) within the Department of Justice and Attorney General. Later that year she became Acting Director-General, advancing to Director-General in 2008.
Julie returned to education in 2009 in her present role. Julie is also a director of the Australian Institute for Teaching and School Leadership (AITSL) and the Australian Council for Educational Research (ACER). Julie completed a Bachelor of Education (Secondary) at BCAE and later, a Masters of Education (Leadership and Management).
Julie is the QUT 2011 Outstanding Alumni Award winner for Education.

Kelvin Grove Transport Options
Public transport: QUT’s Kelvin Grove campus is easy to get to by bus with the QUT Kelvin Grove busway station located at the eastern side of the campus. Contact Translink for more information on 13 1230 or visit www.translink.com.au.
Street parking is available but is limited. The Kelvin Grove campus is located within a Brisbane Central Traffic Area so there is a two hour parking limit unless otherwise signed from 7.00 am to 6.00 pm.
Parking at the QUT Kelvin Grove campus is limited and regulations are enforced with fines for parking without a permit. There is no free parking on-campus.
Visitors can pre-purchase tickets and park in designated parking areas. The pre-paid ticket must be displayed on your vehicle while it is parked.
Details on purchasing pre-paid tickets:
- Purchase a pre-paid ticket from the ticket machine within the Pay & Display car parks. Ensure you bring adequate change for the machine
Red Zone Parking Areas
- Car parks located off Ring Road
- K Block car park located on the corner of Musk Avenue and Victoria Park Road
- Student Centre (F Block) multi-story car park on levels 1A, 2, 2A, 3, 3A
- $8.00 per day
Green Zone Parking Areas
- Oval Parking Area located off Herston Road
- CIP Lot 5 Car Park located off Gona Parade
- $6.00 per day
The car parks are approximately 10 minutes walking distance from the venue.
