Gnigel Gnome Award

Gnigel, the orphaned garden gnome who appeared mysteriously one morning in the office of the Executive Dean, has a new role in the Faculty of Education.

"I'm very excited about it", said Gnigel in his first formal interview. "The Executive Dean discussed it with me and we decided that the best idea would be for me to become the spokesgnome for excellence, application and just general all-round good stuff in the Faculty. We drew up some guidelines and, here I am, playing a leading role in maintaining staff morale and reminding us all not to take life too seriously."

It is expected that Gnigel will travel widely across the Faculty and it is considered a great honour to be chosen to be his temporary guardian. "I mean I have the best job in the world", said Gnigel. "I get to go all over the Faculty, see all the sights, meet all the people and get an inside look at what goes on."
