Dean's Scholars Program

The Dean's Scholars program is an initiative of the Faculty of Education. This program is designed to recognise the top students across undergraduate programs based on their academic performance at the end of each year of full-time study in Education, with the exception of their final year. Specifically, the Dean's Scholars program identifies students who have obtained a Grade Point Average of 6 or above at the end of the year in ED90 Bachelor of Education (Secondary), ED91 Bachelor of Education (Primary) and ED92 Bachelor of Education (Early Childhood). It also identifies students with a Grade Point Average of 6 or above in ED47 Bachelor of Education Studies (Primary TEFL) and the combined undergraduate double degrees in the Faculty, once they  have completed a full year of Education studies. The Dean's scholars are awarded a certificate and a book voucher.

The aim of the Dean's Scholars program is to introduce our top undergraduate students to the research activities of the Faculty and to raise their awareness of our research pathway program and post-graduate research courses leading to careers in research.

The benefits in being a Dean’s Scholar include:

  • recognition in the form of a certificate and book voucher
  • access to the library researchers’ centre and
  • access to materials from other library collections
